My mother (Almeta) suffered a stroke of catastrophic proportions on Wednesday evening. We were unpacking her kitchen in her new townhome when she suddenly complained of feeling light headed/dizzy. Within 15 minutes she was completely unresponsive, and she never regained consciousness.

Tests performed then and yesterday revealed and have verified that it is inoperable and irreversible, the latest of which showed only basic brain stem function (heartbeat and pulse) with no other cognitive function, diminishing progressively.

The grandchildren have been assembled and the ventilator tube has now been removed per her well-documented directives. Her passing is anticipated within the next several hours.

My sister and I will need to meet with you some time within the first portion of next week to try to wrap our heads around everything, among them being options for disposition of her new mortgage. She has paperwork scattered between old and new residences and packed, and I'm not sure of her 2014 filing status for her taxes. We will also likely be meeting with the attorney who drew up the trust papers to get some further clarity.

I will likely be in touch with you on Monday to see about getting together, but I wanted to give you a heads-up now.
